10 days of summer school in the Marano Lagoon
10 days of summer school in the Marano Lagoon
The representation of wetlands has always been a challenge for cartographers, geographers and planners. It is therefore difficult to visualize the complex dynamics that characterize these areas between water and land through maps, charts and plans.
The CREW project - Coordinated Wetland Management in Italy-Croatia Cross Border Region - funded by the INTERREG Italy-Croatia Cross Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020, in which the Comunità Riviera Friulana is a project partner, involves the drafting of a Wetland Area Contract for the Marano Lagoon System.
The Summer School Terr_a_mare, along with the final exhibition and publication of the book, are among the activities carried out to raise awareness of the value of wetland ecosystems and their protection and enhancement. At the same time they aim to disseminate the results of the project, both locally, nationally and in Europe as well as to enhance the Marano Lagoon, an area of outstanding scenic beauty designated as a Natura 2000 network site.
